Without words

Normally this time of the year is a time to leave the winter behind us and look ahead to the time when enjoying the spring weather, but after the terrible terrorist attacks  this week in our beautifull country, we will never recover from the impact on our lives .... this is forever etched in our memory.

 So enjoying life will have a whole new meaning as from now on...We will try to enjoy even more the simple things of life and be thankful for all the love we can give and receive ...

Me & my whole family would like to express our sincere condolences to the many victims of these terrible, cowardly acts & their family .

There are no words for sadness that they must process

We all have to take on our daily routine again together  and try to go on with our lives.

Therefore I would like to share with you some beauty in these gloomy days ...

Happy,' working' weekend !

After a busy week, we feel a tremendous need for tranquility and serenity. That means that we seek out the cosiness in our home....

Meanwhile, we are working on some new ideas for soft furnishings for our showroom. Afther 20 years of decorating and showing our potentials as decorators it is a challenge to present every time a new colourscheme and not to be forgotten.... it must also get the approval of our clients !
After so many years in the trade, we can say that we know the needs of our customers. It is therefore evident that we remain faithful to our style because that is the reason that they keep coming back. For some it may seem to be boring or plain, but the trick is to add just that little bit more  to an interior that makes it interesting.  Many  customers are loyal to the so-called Flemish style, whatever that may define...because it is more complex that what you might think...the Flemish style is more than 'greige' colours..
I found this interpretation about 'greige' on the internet...
They liked the idea of simplicity and honesty, the almost-Japanese restraint of his palette: grey, greeny-grey, greige , and all those distinctive non-colours.
Yes...non colours ! So the art to make this non colour interesting is to complement this greige with a touch of other colour(s) because lets be honest: a lot of people love 'greige'...it is what 'offwhite' colours were for the nineties...so not to be denied !
so yes...a challenge for the time to come !

I would like to share some impressions of our showroom as it is right now
 & of a private project. We like to add  subtle prints to basic colors and we also like ice blue faded colors to complement an offwhite & greige colourpalet.

Fashion, art and interior are irrevocably linked. They affect each other in the broadest sense of meaning. There are many designers who indeed have designed their own interior line, and with success! The trendsetter here must undoubtedly be Ralph Lauren. His interiors have long been the inspiration for many of us ..... We have worked for years in the fashion industry and the establishment of our interior design company was actually a logical result. We still follow the fashion and although we do not create 'trendy' interiors , we do get influenced unconsciously  by fashion. Not only fashion but also art or an exhibition is for us a source of inspiration. For example last week we went to the exhibition of Dries Van Noten at Momu in Antwerp with works by Yves Klein, Thierry De Cordier, Victor Vasarely, Damien Hirst, Cecily Brown, Pol Bury, Christopher Wool, Hubert Duprat, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko and James Tissot.. A stunning retrospective of the work of this inspiring fashion designer from Antwerp with worldwide fame. Look at the video here and enjoy a preview....

Fresh start....

 

Afther a 3 weeks summer holiday, this week we are back on track....I must admit: it feels a bit strange to come back into our daily routine, especially since we enjoyed fantastic weather...

To keep the feeling of summer a little bit longer we've decided to keep the atmosphere in our showroom to be fresh and cool...I must say that we started this look in spring and as all our customers really appreciate it, we've decided to continue in the same atmosphere.  To inspire you, here are some pictures of the showroom as it is now.
