Village Life

We are the village green preservation society, God save strawberry jam and all the different varieties. Preserving the old ways from being abused, protecting the new ways for me and for you.God save tudor houses, antique tables and billiards, God save little shops, china cups and the Village Green. Thank you to the Kinks for summing up what life is still like in a village in the United Kingdom, in my case Buckinghamshire. Yes all this still happens in these little pockets where time stood still.

British summer fetes are in full swing, the one in my village takes place this weekend. Heres some photos I took in previous years to give you a taste of what to expect.

Bed up!

Hopefully soon I am going to decorate a 20m2 studio apartment in Amsterdam which is 215.28 sq feet.
When it is so tiny you have give everything a second thought.
A bed would take up most of the space so I want to use a design bed that is called Bed Up.
Bed up, is a system that you mount at your ceiling, and a panel to your wall. You can lower it at  different heights and you can use the bed legs for stability, after usage you fold it up towards the ceiling.

Anyone moving into a studio apartment, I say get a Bed up!

Spanish wedding

This weekend we had a beautiful wedding in Barbastro, a Village of the province of Huesca.
It was held in Lalann Bodega. I have to admid everything was so well arranged and full of little details, that it made it to my top 5 of best weddings. Above picture of me and my showing belly.

The beautiful bride and her father.

Culture, history, good food and a nice ambiance.

All guests had a card on the table with a personalized message and a photocollage. I was really touched that the wedded couple put so much effort in this detail.
Absolutely had a blast of a time.

new blog - Oh Dear Drea

I started following a new blog called ohdeardrea about a pretty little family.
I like their style, their travels and the food she prepares. Their little daugther is adorable.
See below some images from their home tour.

Mosquito battle

What about you? I am having serious problems with Mosquitos, every year but this time I am more aware as I don´t want them to bite my little boy. Once they bit him 9 times in the face and he looked liked he was ill, apart of that it must be so annoying to have an itchy face and not been able to scratch it.
I was on the hunt for 2 Mosquito nets, I got one for Matt´s room but was still in need for our bed as well. I really wasn´t too happy about the fact to drill a hole in the ceiling to hang the Mosquito net from there. We have a ceiling fan... a pretty one, silver and minimalistic. ( I am aware that ceiling fans are a design NONO, but it´s so practical in a house without AC.) So I was thrilled to have found a Design Mosquito net called DBug, that doesn´t require drilling a hole in the ceiling. I hope to receive it by mail any time soon so we can sleep buzzz free.
