Matteo 5 months old

Our baby boy is 5 months old right now, he got 2 lower teeth wich is very early for a baby of his age and the other theeth are visible as well. I tried to snap a picture of his theet, as he laughs a lot during the day, but every time the camera comes near he gets this focused look on his face and does nothing else but stare, like on the above picture.

DIY studs sandals

These inexpensive pink coral sandals looked a bit plain, so I did this little diy to funk them up a bit with some golden studs.

I used these acrylic studs and a glue gun....
Voila...the almost finished sandals...

New Blog Fave: Cottons and curls

I came across this page and I am hooked! It´s full of DIY projects and make my hands are itching and want to make the same things. The author of the blog Cotton and curls, is a mom of 2 and she makes the cutes outfits out of mens clothes and other fabrics.

Lovely right? No need to throw away clothes, you will be inspired too after reading this blog.

pastel color palette

I was head over heels when I saw this picture over at Paloma´s faboulous blog la Dolce Vita.
It´s the living room of Sally Wheat. It´s sereen, feminine and glamourous.
Ilove he pastel color palette, the lucite details and the wool benches.

I have a very similar candle holder, a dorothy thorpe lucite pretzel candle holder, read about it here.

After seeing this picture, I might want to make a new painting, enjoy your weekend!

Papabubble

Have you heard of Papabubble? This artisanal candy shop with the quirky name, started in 2004 in Barcelona, after their big succes they opened in more cities like Amsterdam, Lisbon, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Moskow and NYC. This candy company allows you to order customized candies in various shapes, amounts, colours and styles.
You can choose a cylinder, pillow or stick shape and choose your own colours and your own flavours. A dear friend of mine used the candies with custom made letters to spell the name of their babygirl and send it as a gift to friends and family as a birth announcement. They can also be used as a wedding favours, for those of you that are still looking for something original.
If you live in a city that has a Papabubble shop, go and visit them, if youé lucky they show you how it´s made.

kitchen utensils

I love cooking, especially when I have guests. Last week I had a guest, a customer of Mr Beau, a 60 year old single man, very healthy, sporty and a good cook. He wanted to have a tour of the house and looking at the kitchen he told me: I like your house, mine is quite the same, but with a lot less STUFF!
I find it cosy to see kitchen utensils, but yes when it´s organized ofcourse... I do understand men, they want things more clean and not in sight...It got me thinking, I love the above picture, but it´s too femenine

Love this DIT idea, very girly too

So practical...

What do you think?

Guestpost: Male and Female decor

The sweet lady Tonya asked me to publish her guest post about merging Male and Female Décor, enjoy:

To your great delight, you and the man you have been dating for some time have decided to move in together. After the discussion about who will move in with whom and laying out who will do certain chores around the home, you figure the worst debates are over. Filled with happiness, you pick up a box filled with elegant lace curtains and floral pillows into your new home. What meets you almost make you drop the box on the floor. The table in the living room is covered in fast-food bags, there is a giant poster of a woman, nearly naked, above the television and to top it all off, there is a life-sized replica of a stormtrooper in the bedroom. How will you ever be able to sleep with a stormtrooper staring you down every night? What you need is a way to harmonize the male and female elements in your home to create something enjoyable for both you and your man.

There are two options when combining male and female styles. The first is to make everything gender neutral. Keep in mind this covers everything from the wall decor to the scent of hand soap in the bathroom. The second option is to have a little of both of you in the home. Compromise must happen here and if you expect to keep something particularly girl, be ready to accept something masculine as well.

There are such things as neutral colors and neutral plants that you can use in your decorating. People often differ in opinion when it comes to colors that are associated with a gender and colors that are not. Yellows, greens and some shades of red look great together and usually aren’t associated with specific genders. Other colors, like black, brown and white, are also neutral both in color and in gender.

When it comes to furniture, wall art and blankets, anything covered in lace, flowers or shoes will have to go. Likewise, anything with sports teams, scantily clad women or beer will not be in the home. Keeping the neutral colors in mind, pick patterns that are big and abstract. You can easily find wall art and furniture that fit this theme.

To those who are up to the challenge, compromise can create a wonderful mix of male and female elements. Start out by having you and your partner list five must haves and five must goes. You will choose the items you own that you insist on keeping and the items your partner has that you want to get rid of. He will do the for you. Now comes the discussion. If he wants to get rid of something on your list of must haves, he must be willing to part with one of his and vice versa.

This discussion doesn’t have to be all give and take. A compromise may involve the storm trooper being placed in the living room so you can sleep at night so long as the frilly pillows and lace curtains stay in the bedroom. If you are insistent on getting rid of something of his, be ready to get rid of something you own. Often, when two people move in together there is an excess of items anyway. It shouldn’t be two ominous that some things will need to go. You are combining two sets of dishes, two sets of blankets, two sets of furniture. Don’t be afraid of getting rid of anything.

Merging male and female styles in a home is like any serious relationship. To succeed, you both must be willing to compromise and sacrifice. If you are worried about the stuff you may get rid of, consider storing it at your parents house or a storage facility. There may be a time where you move into a bigger home where and want a man’s den and, just to be equal, a ladies den as well.

Mostly whites, beige, grey´s for a Beach house

Hope you had a lovely weekend? I feel a lot more relaxed now, we have spend the weekend in the Beach house of my Beau´s family. Making a BBQ, seeing friends, relax in the sun.
I was looking for beach house inspiration and came across these pictures.

Happy 4th of July

Sorry for my absence these last 2 days, I have been never so tired in my life, I needed to rest.
I could use a nice vacation or making a cruise on a boat.
Happy 4th of July! I hope you American boys and girls are having a wonderful day with a lot of celebrations with everything in the colors red, white and blue.
I have to confess...maybe in my previous life I must have been an American, as I feel so connected with the country, people and food! Or maybe I am imprinted as I have watched to many American shows and movies, that formed my sense of humor and way of thinking...
Anyway...enjoy!
