Happy,' working' weekend !

After a busy week, we feel a tremendous need for tranquility and serenity. That means that we seek out the cosiness in our home....

Meanwhile, we are working on some new ideas for soft furnishings for our showroom. Afther 20 years of decorating and showing our potentials as decorators it is a challenge to present every time a new colourscheme and not to be forgotten.... it must also get the approval of our clients !
After so many years in the trade, we can say that we know the needs of our customers. It is therefore evident that we remain faithful to our style because that is the reason that they keep coming back. For some it may seem to be boring or plain, but the trick is to add just that little bit more  to an interior that makes it interesting.  Many  customers are loyal to the so-called Flemish style, whatever that may define...because it is more complex that what you might think...the Flemish style is more than 'greige' colours..
I found this interpretation about 'greige' on the internet...
They liked the idea of simplicity and honesty, the almost-Japanese restraint of his palette: grey, greeny-grey, greige , and all those distinctive non-colours.
Yes...non colours ! So the art to make this non colour interesting is to complement this greige with a touch of other colour(s) because lets be honest: a lot of people love 'greige'...it is what 'offwhite' colours were for the nineties...so not to be denied !
so yes...a challenge for the time to come !

I would like to share some impressions of our showroom as it is right now
& of a private project. We like to add  subtle prints to basic colors and we also like ice blue faded colors to complement an offwhite & greige colourpalet.

wishing  you a very happy valentine weekend !

Moving around.....again....

Dear readers,
The last few weeks we had such bad weather here in Belgium . Spring seemed to take  for ever to arrive and working in the garden was not an option... So we made a virtue of necessity and took the opportunity to chance the upstairs private rooms ...again.... Since quiet some time we felt the need to extend our dining area and as you can see, we moved a little bit around with our furniture....We moved our dining room to the former sitting area and made our sitting area back in front of the fireplace(where it once was...)The former dining room became a working area. We now feel as if we have more space and feel quiet happy with the results. We also painted the inside of our dutch cabinet in a green-blue lime paint.
At the bay window we installed our antique chaise-longue. It's a perfect place to read a book, as we have a lot of natural light coming in there. As you can see, we also put a lot of green objects around to add an extra color touch and it works ! See for yourself in the next pictures and let me know what you think about it.
I wish you all a wonderful and very sunny weekend !

Dear readers,
In Belgium, tomorrow almost everyone has a day off and some of us even take a short holiday until Monday, and since there's no good weather predicted, this should be the ideal opportunity to maybe visit the wonderful exposition of Antoine Watteau at Bozar in Brussels. It is really worthwhile! By the way: this weekend is the last chance to visit because Sunday is the last day of this exposition..Most of Watteau's work embraced the musical and theatrical scenes.

Coming back home, I like to take the time to prepare a nice dinner  in my kitchen. Nothing better to enjoy a meal at a nice table....To complete the ambiance, a bit of classical music is of great importance !  (tip: the CD sold at 'Antoine Watteau-lesson in music' is super !)

Hope you all enjoy your (extended) weekend !
